About the Role

The Manager of Privacy Operations (“MPO”) is an integral part of Latham’s Technology team. This role will be responsible for working within the Global Data Privacy Office (“GDPO”), which is part of the Information Governance and Technology teams, while working with members of the GDPO to deliver privacy operations and implement measures necessary to demonstrate compliance with applicable data privacy laws, including managing and updating Records of Processing Activities and the Data Protection Impact Assessment processes, delivering training and awareness, assisting with privacy audits, reviewing and updating privacy policies and vendor reviews. This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Conducting data privacy audits of the firm’s offices and/or business functions worldwide
  • Maintaining the Firm’s Binding Corporate Rules, supporting their ongoing review, and continued management across the firm, in collaboration with members of the GDPO and Data Privacy Committee
  • Collaborating with other key internal stakeholders to review proposed projects which involve the collection or utilization of personal data, advising on privacy risks, compliance with local data privacy laws, and carrying out data protection impact assessments
  • Ensuring the appropriate filings and registrations are in place with privacy regulators
  • Cooperating with the Security Teams, to raise awareness of data privacy and security issues and provides training on the subject matter where needed

 

We’d love to hear from you if you:

 

  • Exhibit strong project management and organizational skills including the ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, anticipate obstacles, and handle multiple deadlines
  • Display the ability to take initiative in driving improvements to the firm’s compliance posture
  • Demonstrate well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

 

And have:

 

  • Significant experience in advising on UK and EU data privacy laws, including GDPR, and  on UK and EU data protection requirements
  • CIPP/E, CIPM, or a similar privacy professional qualification
  • Practice of Privacy Compliance Management Software tools, such as OneTrust
  • Knowledge of US data privacy laws, including CCPA and HIPAA is desirable
  • Experience of working in a law firm or professional services firm #LI-HW1 #LI-Hybrid
