About the Role

The Global VAT Manager is an integral part of Latham’s Global Tax team. This role will be responsible for providing indirect tax technical support to the Global Tax Department and ensuring compliance for the firm globally. This position includes reviewing and establishing consistent indirect tax best practices with continued focus with on-going control measures. This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include: 

  • Assisting the Senior Manager of Global VAT in ensuring the firm’s compliance with tax laws and regulations with regards to indirect taxes in all countries in which the firm has a filing requirement
  • Providing support on day-to-day questions relating to the filing of indirect tax returns and any other reporting requirements
  • Approving the firm’s indirect tax returns
  • Assisting with managing indirect tax audits communicating with the firm’s tax and audit service providers and tax authorities in each jurisdiction
  • Assisting with the implementation of indirect tax registrations/processes for existing and new offices

We’d love to hear from you if you:

 

  • Possess strong analytical skills with minimal supervision needed and the ability to use independent judgment and discretion when making majority of decisions
  • Exhibit well-developed, professional interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills (i.e., organising, planning, problem-solving, and decision making)

 And have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance and/or relevant Accounting/VAT qualifications
  • Strong indirect tax knowledge in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia
  • Experience of working, ideally, in-house within a professional services environment
