About the Role

The Business Development Senior Specialist – New Business is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development (BD) team. This role will be responsible for working closely with partners and Business Development teams to develop and deliver high-quality external-facing business development materials such as pitch documents, and responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs), and credentials statements. This role will be located in the London office and will be supporting predominantly our practices and partners in the Middle East. Please note that this role will be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.  

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Analysing invitation to tender (ITT), request for proposal (RFP), and request for information (RFI) documents to elicit compliance requirements, instructions, evaluation criteria, and undertaking other bid management tasks such as developing bid plans, templates, and liaising with internal subject matter experts to produce high quality documents
  • Collaborating with BD teams, lawyers, and firm resources in gathering and compiling information for credentials statements, pitch documents, and responses to RFPs
  • Conducting information gathering sessions with relevant BD teams and partners to clarify requirements, client needs, and approach
  • Helping partners prepare for client meetings, including developing scripts, talking points, and additional supporting pitch documents; providing one-on-one partner coaching as needed
  • Working with relevant global BD teams to maintain and update standard materials such as templates, content, biographies, and experience within the firm’s proposal management system and databases; ensuring that best practices in the preparation of proposal documents are maintained and shared across department

We’d love to hear from you if you:

 

  • Have relevant work experience leading on proposals and RFPs at a law firm, professional services, or related industry
  • Have prior experience of the Middle East legal sector (desirable but not essential)

 

And:

 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of pitch processes, environments, and the ability to utilize pitch management tools
  • Display the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
  • Exhibit the ability to work in a high-pressure environment
