About the Role

The Network Engineer is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team. This role will be responsible for assisting with the deployment and support of network services across the firm. The Network Engineer is responsible for assisting with the design, testing, implementation, support, and maintenance of the local and wide area networks, network hardware, wireless services and security in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This role will be located in our Manchester office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:


  • Assisting with planning and implementing firmwide network upgrades and migrations, validating project requirements, defining project scope, developing schedules, and producing detailed designs for projects. 
  • Proposing solutions to enhance the stability and reliability of the enterprise network and helping maintain a highly available network environment, including the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network management tools 
  • Coordinating the management of circuit providers and subscribed services, including ordering, maintenance, problem resolution, and performance monitoring 
  • Following standard Service Management, ITSM, ITIL, and Change Management policies and procedures, including representing networking changes at the Change Advisory Board and coordinating with internal groups to ensure global configuration standards are maintained 
  • Assisting with security audits and required changes, maintaining an inventory of spare networking hardware, reviewing and tracking associated software and firmware revisions and patches to maintain global standards as part of infrastructure lifecycle management

  • Demonstrate analytical skills needed to troubleshoot a variety of symptoms, diagnose problems, and test, recommend, and implement solutions to technology problems
  • Display well-developed, professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion

 

And have:

  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent in Information Technology or related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience of working in a global matrix structure
