OGC Lead – Compliance AML

The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) Lead – Compliance AML & Sanctions is an integral part of Latham’s Office of the General Counsel team. This role will be responsible for serving as a global leader for the firm’s regulatory compliance and risk management programmes, including the firm’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions programmes, while collaborating with the respective teams to utilise Intapp to manage and enhance Conflicts and Compliance processes, including updating firm systems and databases. This role will be located in either our London, or Manchester office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Understanding the needs of the Compliance team and effectively translating these requirements to the Data Management and Conflicts teams
• Maintaining accurate record-keeping and updating systems as necessary, ensuring all compliance-related information is current and accessible
• Reviewing potential matters and monitoring changes in the Intapp system to identify materialised issues
• Assisting with the sanctions screening of clients, non-clients, and/or vendors, including generating screening reports from firm systems, summarising screening results for escalation and review, and contacting lawyers with matters identified in screening
• Managing the maintenance of refreshed Know Your Client packets

• Possess well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with lawyers, management, support staff, and outside contacts
• Demonstrate strong communication skills

And have:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Relevant AML and/or sanctions compliance experience in a compliance, risk, or operational function within a law firm, banking institution, audit company, or similar professional services organisation
