About the Role

The Manager – Internal Events is an integral part of Latham’s Events, Sponsorships, & Travel team. This role will be responsible for planning and managing firm events and meeting programmes, as well as discussing objectives for events with management and using expertise to make recommendations for appropriate events. This role will be located in our Manchester office but regular travel across Europe will be required. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Overseeing the budget process to properly form and create standardised financial documents for all assigned projects
  • Managing end-to-end requirements for meetings or meeting sub-events as assigned, including identifying service providers and accommodations, transportation, location, catering, signage, displays, and any special needs requirements
  • Managing the preparation and distribution of handouts and meeting collateral, creating and maintaining meeting agendas, planning checklists, and adhering to deadlines
  • Acting as the primary contact with hotels for assigned events and securing appropriate meeting space and room blocks
  • Researching and recommending event locations, hotels, vendors, and other event contacts for both current and future events

  • Possess well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
  • Exhibit the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus
  • Demonstrate good communication skills

 

And have:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience in managing the full life-cycle of event planning.
  • Experience in a law firm or other professional services firm, preferably
  • Strong written and spoken language skills in English and German, preferably
