We are driven by our core values: respect, innovation, and collaboration.

About the Role

We are seeking a Knowledge Management Lawyer in our market-leading M&A practice group in London to support the delivery of a broad portfolio of knowledge resources to our M&A and Emerging Companies lawyers. The role will be located in our London office and may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring current legal, regulatory, and market developments, and keeping the attorneys abreast of these developments through emails, bulletins, training or other appropriate means
  • Drafting and maintaining standard forms, templates, guidance notes and other knowledge resources to help our attorneys to work at the highest level
  • Supporting the group’s training programmes, providing substantive training to the associates and trainees as well as more general training on knowledge resources generally
  • Analysing market trends and supporting the preparation of the firm’s European M&A Market Surveys
  • Supporting the delivery of the firm’s regular M&A Views thought leadership publications and wider thought leadership efforts, including developing ideas for articles and writing and editing content
  • Participating in external forums with members of the wider legal community and external service providers in order to keep abreast of regulatory and industry developments
  • Generally acting as a sounding board for ad hoc legal and technical legal queries from attorneys

We'd love to hear from you if you are:

  • A solicitor qualified in England and Wales
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
  • A self-starter willing to take the initiative and able to perform responsibilities without close supervision

And have:

  • A Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ post-qualification experience as a practising lawyer in mergers & acquisitions at a leading international law firm
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
  • The ability to work independently on and deliver projects of significant complexity on a timely basis.

Latham & Watkins has a well-established Knowledge Management program with defined career progression routes which recognize the experience our colleagues bring to their role. Whilst our expectation is that candidates will have 5 years PQE or more, we are open to candidates at all levels, including those with very significant experience in this field.

Benefits & Additional Information

Successful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance. Eligible employees can participate in Latham’s comprehensive benefit program which includes:

  • Health insurance as well as group income protection and life assurance
  • A pension plan
  • Wellness programs

  • And more!

Additionally, we have a range of programming including Global Affinity Groups, which are open to all. These groups provide a firmwide platform to share experiences and advice as well as an opportunity to participate in a supportive network with common interests to help make life at the firm even better.
